Stephanie Loesel is a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist. She works with individuals and groups across the life span to help them move better, build strength, & conquer their training goals.
A competitive gymnast for 10 years, Stephanie is no stranger to movement. She was introduced to yoga in 2009 and was drawn to it immediately. After practicing regularly for 3 years, she began Crossfit and yoga fell by the wayside. Eventually, the weight-lifting and intense cardio began to wear on her body and tighten her muscles. She knew where she needed to go. She sought out a yoga studio and began to practice again, this time with new purpose – releasing stress, taking care of her body, and re-connecting with herself.
In 2015, Stephanie trained in Cahuita Costa Rica at Marianne Wells Yoga School and received her 200 hour teaching certification.
In 2022, she completed her 300 hour training, making her a 500 hour registered yoga teacher, through Caroline Wybar Yoga School where she deepened her knowledge of anatomy, learned more about how yoga affects the nervous system, and studied how to take care of students with injuries and restrictions to make sure they feel supported and heard in a yoga practice.
In September of 2022, she trained with Functional Anatomy Seminars to become a Certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist. This certification deepened her knowledge about how the joints function and how important it is to move each joint independently so they all work better interdependently.
Stephanie has worked with students from all walks of life- weightlifting athletes, competitive gymnasts, seasoned yoga practitioners, high school baseball players, yoga newbies, and more. Her teaching style of in depth explanations of body position comes from her background in gymnastics.
The philosophy she uses for her classes is inspired by her passion for functional fitness with a focus on utilizing the body in ways it was meant to be used; moving your joints, muscles, and ligaments in all possible directions and ranges. She believes this is something our bodies have forgotten how to do in our sedentary, stuck-behind-the-desk society and if you don’t use it, you lose it.
